Kate Murray is a mix of practical and creative with a dash of scholarly thinking. Some quick facts:

  • Made her first podcast in 2014 called Myth Matters about the psychology of superstition and all the beliefs we take for granted. Episodes covered topics such as ‘you only use 10% of your brain’ and ‘people are more crazy on a full moon’
  • Before this, she worked in video production for live music events and music videos. Even when working in the visual, her focus was on sound.
  • Kate has always been a scholar by nature, reading books on communication for fun and undertaking training – audio, screen studies, data visualisation, graphic design, psychology, language, relationships and more
  • Holds a Bachelor of Communications from Griffith University and an Executive MBA from Melbourne Business School
  • Started in Research Communications in 2016 and finally her worlds of creative and academic came together. Kate began to think about audio and podcasting in a more academic light and continues to make connections with academics around the world who share her passion
